Vice President – Customer and Community Engagement

Mayuri (May) Farlinger is Vice President of Customer and Community Engagement at Alliant Energy Corporation (NASDAQ: LNT). She joined Alliant Energy as an intern in 2004. Since then, she has taken on a series of progressively more responsible roles with several teams across the company, including Finance, Audit, Regulatory, Account Management, Field Engineering, Customer Renewables, Revenue Management and Operations.

Throughout her tenure at Alliant Energy, May’s ongoing leadership and initiative have energized others and delivered positive results for customers and communities.

In 2020, May was named the Director of Operations for the East Region in Iowa. Later that year – on August 10, 2020 – a powerful derecho storm swept across Iowa. As a result, over a quarter of a million customers in Iowa were without power. Immediately after the storm, May and her team quickly jumped into action and executed a comprehensive and collaborative plan to safely restore power to customers and communities throughout the state. May’s preparedness, experience, leadership and focus led the team during the unprecedented restoration effort.

May and her team maintain a customer-first mindset and focus on providing the safe, reliable and affordable service customers count on every day. She takes great pride in engaging and interacting with customers and officials within the communities Alliant Energy serves. These meaningful relationships and partnerships help to create innovative solutions for customers.

In 2022, May was named Vice President of Customers and Community Engagement. In this role, she is responsible for growing Alliant Energy’s customer base in Iowa. This includes leading the company’s economic development, community engagement and account management groups. She also directs and provides leadership for regulatory activities and initiatives supporting electric and natural gas customers in Iowa. May is also responsible for directing and implementing the day-to-day delivery of gas and electric service, power plant operations in Eastern Iowa and working with the company’s Safety Blue Hat program across the state.

May is passionate about her community, volunteering her time through nonprofit board service with United Way of East Central Iowa, Indian Creek Nature Center and Corridor Women Connect.

May earned her bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Iowa and her MBA at St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa.
