In mid-September, our guest speakers discussed the power of collaboration and the partnerships they’ve developed to advance digital literacy, upskill a regional workforce and create learning hubs. Our panelists – Barb LaMue of New North, Inc.; Michelle Schuler of TechSpark Wisconsin with Microsoft; Matt Valiquette of the Bay Area Workforce Development Board; and Joe Kirgues from gener8tor – discussed the root causes of the digital divide and shared how they’ve successfully leveraged capital investment to address some of these challenges. Attendees gained knowledge and ideas for ways to replicate their successes locally in order to increase digital literacy for all.
